The sacred holiday of Gurban bayramy (Eid al-Adha) is widely observed in Turkmenistan – one of the major celebrations in the Islamic world that symbolizes spiritual unity, solidarity, and noble aspirations.

According to a recent Decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the holiday of Gurban bayramy (Eid al-Adha) is celebrated for three days in Turkmenistan – June 6th, 7th, and 8th. The holiday, which originally fell on Sunday, June 8th, was moved to June 9th in accordance with the document.

Throughout these three days, vibrant festivities will take place in the administrative centers, etraps, and villages of the regions, as well as in parks, cultural centers, and theaters of the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. These celebrations are designed to cultivate a sense of pride in the glorious past and present of the Turkmen people.

As noted by the President of Turkmenistan, Gurban bayramy (Eid al-Adha), celebrated in the beginning of summer during the International Year of Peace and Trust, embodies the esteemed moral values, traditions, and rituals of Eastern peoples, including the Turkmen, promoting humanism and benevolence.
