DUSHANBE, 14.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – During a press conference, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, reported that the total amount of loans issued in 2023 was 19 billion somoni. This is a 32 percent increase from the previous year, with 4.6 billion somoni more in loans.
Tolibzoda stated that of the loans issued, 43.1 percent were allocated to the consumption sector, 14.4 percent to agriculture, 11.7 percent to foreign trade, 14.1 percent to industry, 7.1 percent to the service sector, 3.8 percent to construction, and 5.8 percent to other areas. He also mentioned that manufacturing entrepreneurship received the largest portion of loans, accounting for 37.8 percent of the total volume, which is a 36.6 percent increase from 2022.
The Chairman also noted that microloans accounted for 13.6 billion somoni of the total volume, increasing by 29.1 percent from the previous year.
