The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Uzbekistan József Rózsa recently visited Surkhandarya region and met with the Hokim of the region, Ulugbek Qosimov. During the meeting, the two sides discussed how to strengthen their bilateral ties and create new projects in the areas of trade, economics, investment, tourism, education, and more.
Moreover, the delegation talked with the heads of fish farming farms in Termez district and explored the possibility of introducing 5 million fingerlings from Hungary to establish a joint fish farming cluster. In addition, two projects – “Pomir Agrocluster” and “To’palang HPD Holding” – were presented to the guests. The Oqtepa project is projected to yield up to 25 thousand tons of fish annually, while the Tupalang project is estimated to be worth 15 billion UZS. The parties also provided ideas and advice for better use of the natural resources of the region.
