The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest organized a meeting between Sanjar Valiyev, Director of the Center for Foreign Policy Research and International Initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Henrietta Balajthy, Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. The main focus of the meeting was on current cooperation matters within the context of relations with the European Union. The importance of enhancing partnerships, fostering dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives to promote mutual interests was emphasized. The commitment to deepening economic, political, and cultural ties was also highlighted, as well as creating favorable conditions for collaboration across various sectors. Special attention was given to the upcoming Samarkand Summit “Central Asia – European Union” in April 2025, which is seen as a crucial step in advancing bilateral and multilateral relations. The significance of strengthening cooperation between Central Asian countries and the European Union, including within initiatives related to infrastructure development and economic projects, was also stressed. In addition, the parties discussed international issues and reaffirmed their dedication to the principles of mutual respect and constructive dialogue, emphasizing the need to consider the interests of all participants in international relations.
