The establishment of the International Turon Federation marks the official global recognition of Turon martial arts, a national sport that originated in Uzbekistan after its independence. During the founding conference at the Tashkent City Department of Sports, it was announced that the federation’s headquarters will be located in New York. Officials from various organizations and countries, including the Ministry of Sports of Uzbekistan, Asian Turon Martial Arts Association, and Turon Martial Arts Federation of Uzbekistan, attended the conference in person and online. The history of Turon martial arts can be traced back to the time of Amir Temur, and its modern rules were developed by the late expert Bahodir Saidov. The conference discussed important matters such as the organization’s charter, governing body, and symbols. Farrukh Niyazimbetov was elected as the President of the International Turon Federation and will be responsible for registering the organization in New York and organizing the first Turon Martial Arts World Championship in Tashkent.
