Today, the nation held festivities to celebrate the abundance of the Turkmen land on the occasion of the harvest holiday. The main events took place on the banks of the Garagum River in Ashgabat.

The festivities were attended by the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet, members of the Khalk Maslakhaty, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of public organizations, diplomatic missions accredited in the country, and esteemed elders.

Prior to the harvest holiday, an award ceremony was held at the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, where state awards and valuable gifts were presented to agricultural workers who achieved significant results in developing agriculture and cultivating abundant crops in the year of “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” under the guidance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Our beloved country is confidently moving forward in the Era of Revival, a new era of a powerful state, through reforms and prosperity. The state and national programs aimed at improving the standard of living for the people are being successfully implemented.

As a country with a rich agricultural history, Turkmenistan places great importance on the development of the agricultural sector. Thanks to the successful implementation of large-scale reforms initiated by the Hero-Arkadag, the economic power of our homeland is growing stronger and the well-being of our people is steadily improving under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In order to further develop the sector in line with the demands of the time, measures are being taken to introduce modern technologies, advanced scientific achievements, and best practices, as well as to improve the legislative framework.

In order to effectively manage the agricultural sector and improve its operations, research institutes for grain production, land cultivation, and cotton growing have been established in accordance with the decrees of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In addition, starting from the 2024 harvest, state procurement prices for wheat, cotton, and rice have been raised.

Special attention is also given to strengthening the material and technical base. Favorable bank loans are provided to peasant associations and farms, agricultural joint-stock companies, and tenants.

All of this allows for successful implementation of reforms in the sector, bringing it to a new level of quality, and increasing the productivity of agricultural crops.

The adoption of government programs for the production of import-substituting goods and increasing the production of export-oriented products has been an important step in the development of the food processing industry and meeting the population’s demand for high-quality food products.

It should be noted that concrete measures are being implemented to diversify the sector. Special attention is given to ensuring food abundance, studying and implementing the best international practices in this area, and expanding international cooperation, including effective relations with the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

In particular, Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is becoming more active, and all efforts of our country in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals – from developing the agricultural sector based on non-polluting technologies to improving the food safety system – are supported.

Local artists performed musical performances on a special stage set up on the banks of the Garagum River.

An outdoor exhibition was also held, showcasing the achievements of agriculture and processing industries in the country, as well as works of applied art featuring Akhal-Teke horses, Turkmen alabai, our beautiful nature, and national jewels.

In the section dedicated to the achievements of cotton growers in the country, various cotton varieties and products made from raw materials were displayed. Visitors could also familiarize themselves with samples of the best medium-fibered and fine-fibered cotton, each of which is the result of the long-term work of Turkmen scientists and breeders.

In addition, samples of leading varieties of Turkmen wheat and various baked goods were on display. Thanks to the successful implementation of agricultural reforms in the country under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the harvest of agricultural crops, grown through the hard work of landowners, is increasing.

The exhibition also featured stands showcasing the achievements of the private sector in agriculture and water management, horse breeding, animal husbandry, nature conservation, food processing, and textile industries, which were of great interest to participants and visitors.

A wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables were also on display at the exhibition.

Special attention was given to modern agricultural machinery, including powerful combine harvesters, tractors used for crop cultivation, and other specialized equipment that effectively contributes to the cultivation of abundant crops of wheat and “white gold”.

Visitors also had the opportunity to try traditional dishes of ethnic cuisine and observe demonstrations of embroidery, carpet making, and felt making by women.

Competitions in Turkmen goresh, an integral part of our cultural heritage, added a special touch to the celebrations.

All of this clearly demonstrates the centuries-old national traditions that are being preserved and developed today.

An exhibition of products by sculptors and artists dedicated to the work of farmers and our beloved homeland was also organized.

The celebrations then continued in the square in front of the stage.

The assembled audience listened attentively to the congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the hardworking people of rural areas, who cultivate abundant harvests, and to all the people of independent neutral Turkmenistan. As noted in the message, the tireless efforts and comprehensive approach of farmers have led to the generous Turkmen land yielding the best harvest of wheat and green crops, thus significantly strengthening the food security of our country. Thanks to the reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, we are able to grow abundant harvests of grain, vegetables, berries, fruits, and cotton, which provide prosperity and abundance in the domestic market and in every household.

In independent Turkmenistan, great importance is placed on improving the reform processes in the agricultural sector and increasing the productivity of agricultural crops. Targeted measures in this area allow us to make rational use of the country’s land and water resources, introduce advanced scientific achievements, and actively involve private producers in the sector. At the same time, these measures open up significant prospects for increasing the volume of agricultural production, manufacturing various products for the domestic and foreign markets, and consistently ensuring food abundance in the country, as emphasized in the message from the head of state.

On the occasion of the harvest holiday, workers in the agricultural sector presented President of Turkmenistan with a beautiful black Akhal-Teke racing horse named Keremli, born in 2021.

The participants of the event expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, for their constant care for workers in rural areas, creating conditions for effective work of farmers, and ensuring that they will continue to contribute to the prosperity of independent neutral Turkmenistan.
