Experts from Switzerland in the textile industry have been exploring the sericulture industry in Uzbekistan.
The visitors went to Ismoiljon Gilamlari carpet business in Margilan, Fergana region, and had the chance to understand the production of finished items.
The enterprise is one of the largest. Over 1,000 females are employed here. More than 15 kinds of modern export-oriented carpets are produced. These items are not only sold domestically but also exported to Central Asian countries.
The guests had a close look at the enterprise’s conditions, the quality of the goods, and their design and watched the production process.
The foreign experts were accompanied by the Adviser to the Chairman of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, Ms. Yokut Schmid, who informed them about the history of Uzbek sericulture and the characteristics of silk products.
