During his visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, toured the Kazan Kremlin State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. He was accompanied by Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of Tatarstan.

The Kazan Kremlin is a complex of architectural, historical, and archaeological monuments that have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the oldest part of Kazan, and reveals the city’s centuries-old history.

The President of Uzbekistan visited the Kul Sharif Mosque, where Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin gave him detailed information about the building. A dua was recited. The mosque was constructed in 1996-2005 in memory of the ancient cathedral mosque that existed on the territory of the Khanate of Kazan until the 16th century, and was named in honor of Imam Kul Sharif.

The President of Uzbekistan also toured the Cathedral of the Annunciation, escorted by Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan. This is the oldest building in the Kazan Kremlin, built in the 16th century. It is an impressive example of Pskov architecture.
