The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has completed his official visit to the Russian Federation and returned to Tashkent. Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maksim Reshetnikov and other officials saw him off at the airport.
During his meetings with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the two leaders discussed the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, particularly in the areas of trade, economics, investment, energy, transport, communication, culture, humanitarianism, and other key areas.
The Uzbekistani leader also held talks with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, and the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
Several important events were held during his trip, including the fourth meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government, the Interregional Conference of University Rectors of Uzbekistan and Russia, the third Forum of Interregional Cooperation, the opening of the Uzbekistan pavilion at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, meetings of subcommittees of the bilateral Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commissions, and more.
The President of Uzbekistan, accompanied by the Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan, attended the ceremony for the commencement of Russian natural gas supply to Uzbekistan.
