In Qiziltepa district, you must try the famous homemade Zarmetan kefir. Popular dishes in the district include Nurata tandoor and Kanimeh beshbarmak. Khatirchi district, known for its well-developed fish farming, is famous for its fish dishes.
The artificial reservoirs along the banks of the Zarafshan River, which runs through the district, provide ample space for fish farming. Many residents also have their own artificial ponds as part of their subsidiary farms. Fish farming is becoming the primary driver of economic growth.
