The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a gathering with representatives of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the UK Parliament. The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Committee on International Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Lower House of Parliament Dilorom Fayziyeva and other deputies. They gave insights into the workings of the parliament, the powers of the Legislative Chamber, the operations of factions, committees, and commissions, and the inter-parliamentary friendship group.
The reforms and laws developed based on the new Constitution were discussed. The participants talked about the objectives set out in the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy and identified the direction of the seven-year development.
The sides pointed out that the ties between Uzbekistan and the UK are continuously improving. Views were exchanged on further inter-parliamentary cooperation.
