– The relationship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has seen positive strategic development from 2020 to 2025. This can be attributed to the economic reforms implemented by Uzbekistan since 2017, aimed at opening up the economy and adopting market mechanisms. As a result, there has been a significant strengthening of economic ties between the two countries.

Azerbaijan has emerged as a key trading partner for Uzbekistan, leading to an increase in mutual trade and expansion of cooperation in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and textile industry. According to Mobil Mamedov, Chairman of the Republican Azerbaijan National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, this has been a notable development.

The political dialogue between the two countries has also progressed, with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement in June 2021. This agreement focuses on enhancing political exchanges and cooperation in regional security. Special attention has also been given to transport and infrastructure projects, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which has facilitated the use of ports and railway networks in Azerbaijan.

In addition to economic and political ties, cultural and educational exchanges have been actively pursued by both countries. This has included organizing cultural events, student exchanges, and academic programs, all of which have contributed to closer collaboration between the people. The joint celebration of Navruz and the construction of a school in Fuzuli have served as symbols of friendship between the two countries. This initiative by Uzbekistan aims to support the reconstruction of the region and improve educational opportunities for the local population. The construction of a school in Fuzuli and the celebration of Navruz are clear indications of the comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and this cooperation is expected to continue in the future.

Therefore, the strategic and multilateral partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, covering various areas such as economy, politics, and culture, continues to deepen, laying a strong foundation for the future development of bilateral relations.
