In line with the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy, extensive efforts are ongoing throughout the country to improve landscaping. A new green space has been established in the capital’s Bektemir district.
The President and representatives from government institutions and the community participated in a tree-planting event.
This area, previously undeveloped and located between the Iykota, Majnuntol, Zilola, Rohat, and Iqbol mahallas, has now been transformed into a new park thanks to the collaborative efforts of local residents. Over an area of three hectares, 3,000 trees and shrubs have been planted following a forest landscaping concept, with designated services for irrigation and maintenance.
During the event, the President had a warm conversation with representatives from the mahallas, senior citizens, and young people. He expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to this admirable project and extended his Navruz greetings to the attendees.
As part of the month-long improvement campaign initiated by the President, intensive efforts are underway in the mahallas to develop agriculture and expand green spaces.
This spring, the goal is to plant 125 million trees. Special attention is being given to selecting appropriate planting locations and improving irrigation systems. The trees planted in the new park will contribute to this large-scale initiative.
As part of the State Program for the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy, 18 forest farms specializing in seedling cultivation will be established this year. With the “science – project – practice” approach, efforts in genetic selection will be intensified, and plantations will be expanded. The “Yashil Olam” (Green World) platform will also be launched, allowing people to purchase seedlings online.
