The President of the country visited the Kashkadarya region and toured the new agrotourism complex. The complex, which covers 520 hectares, used to be dry and barren, but after implementing a drip irrigation system, it has been transformed into a lush green landscape. The complex includes vineyards, cherry trees, and apple orchards that were planted using terracing technology and imported from France.
The President praised the success of the complex and noted its potential to produce 7,500 tons of agricultural products annually, with an estimated export value of $5 million. It has also created 100 permanent and over 1,000 seasonal jobs. A French agronomist has been brought in to oversee the development of the seedlings and train local youth in agricultural practices and market requirements.
To further boost the local economy and attract tourists, a 120-seat restaurant and a 100-guest hotel have been built within the complex. Plans are also underway to construct an agro-logistics center, a training center, and facilities for processing and storing produce.
The President was informed about plans to establish similar complexes in other mountainous areas and instructed for irrigation systems to be installed on new plots of land and allocated to the population for establishing orchards, creating new sources of income for residents.
