A new Water Sports Palace has opened in Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the recently constructed Water Sports Palace in the Yakkasaray district of the capital. The complex is owned by the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and was built with the knowledge and experience of countries known for their strong water sports programs. The facility caters to both professional athletes and amateurs, providing top-notch training and competition opportunities. The main hall boasts a 50-meter swimming pool and can accommodate 500 spectators, making it suitable for international events and national team training. Additionally, there are smaller pools for children to learn water sports. The palace can serve up to 100 people at a time and over a thousand people daily. On the second floor, there are administrative offices, coaching rooms, a conference room, a gym, and spaces for sports commentators. The complex also houses a Water Sports School, which was observed by the President during his visit. He encouraged the young athletes and expressed his pride in the 13 athletes from the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan who have qualified for the upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. The President emphasized the importance of promoting sports and constructing sports facilities in cities and villages, as it not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also serves as a role model for future generations.
