During the IV Human Rights Forum, a ceremony was held to honor the recipients of the “Inson Huquqlari Himoyasi Uchun” (For the Protection of Human Rights) badge. The event was opened by Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, who mentioned that it has become a tradition to award this badge to foreign colleagues. This year, four representatives from foreign countries were recognized for their work in human rights: Şeref Malkoç, Chief Ombudsman of the Republic of Türkiye, for his efforts in promoting cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries; Dr. Noura bint Zaid Al-Rashoud, Executive Director of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, for her contributions to cooperation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission; Rashid Hamad Humaid Albalushi, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission, for his international cooperation in protecting human rights; and Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah, Chairperson of the Qatar National Human Rights Committee, for her work in promoting and protecting human rights on an international level. The recipients were presented with their badges in a formal ceremony, with Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali accepting the award on behalf of the Qatari recipient. The “Inson Huquqlari Himoyasi Uchun” badge was established in 2020 by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to recognize and support individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to human rights protection, and to share their experiences and promote their work. The photos from the event were taken by Alisher Isroilov and Norgul Abduraimova.
