Tourists from all over the world come to Uzbekistan, dreaming of visiting the iconic Registan Square in Samarkand. This popular landmark is alive and bustling all year round, day or night.

Honkul Samarov, Director of the Registan Complex in Samarkand, comments: “The Registan has become a symbol not only of Samarkand, but of the whole country. People come here from all over the world to admire its beauty, feel its walls, and discover its history.”

In the past, the complex was only open during the day. However, in order to encourage tourism and make the most of the country’s potential, the government has issued a resolution allowing the Registan to stay open from 7am to midnight from March to November. This means that both local and foreign visitors can enjoy the complex for 24 hours.

In addition, the complex offers 3D laser shows, musical performances, a permanent exhibition hall, and a range of programs for disabled visitors. An audio guide system is also available in nine languages, including Uzbek, Russian, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Italian.

The Institute of Astronomy has also installed a sundial on a marble stand in the Mirzo Ulugbek Madrasah, and the Sherdor Madrasah has an exhibition of 19th century student cells and rare photographs. Meanwhile, the Tilla-Qori Madrasah showcases handmade crafts.

To make it easier for tourists to visit the Registan, electronic turnstiles have been installed at the entrance and tickets can now be purchased online at www.registon.uz. All of these measures are aimed at increasing the number of visitors and providing them with a great experience.
