Uzbekistan’s Representatives Compete in the IBSA World Games

The IBSA World Games for visually impaired athletes have started in Birmingham, England.

The para chess players are competing in the first rounds of the IBSA Games. More than 20 athletes from various countries are competing in the “mental gymnastics”, which consists of 7 rounds.

In the first round, Akhadkhan Kimsanboyev of Uzbekistan faced off against his opponent from Romania Mihai Bursuc, and won.

Another Uzbekistan player Rayhona Sharapova, played with white pieces against the experienced Czech chess player Palomar Jose. The game ended in a stalemate.

The games will continue until August 27.
