Uzbek Chess Players Achieving Global Recognition

Recently, the International Chess Federation honored two chess players from Uzbekistan by bestowing them with prestigious titles. Abdumalik Abdusalimov was named an International Grandmaster and Umida Omonova was designated an International Master. This recognition is a testament to the increasing number of talented chess players from Uzbekistan who are making their mark on the international stage.

Umida Omonova has been a formidable presence in international chess competitions for a few years and is regarded as one of the most gifted players. Abdumalik Abdusalimov has also been widely acknowledged for his accomplishments, having been awarded the title of FIDE Master and Master of Sports of International Class in 2015, as well as the prestigious state award “Mard O’g’lon” in 2018.
