The President of Uzbekistan met with the OSCE Chair-in-Office

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received Elina Valtonen, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the current Chair-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), who was on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

The esteemed guest conveyed the warm greetings and well-wishes of the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, to the President of Uzbekistan.

The discussion focused on enhancing practical collaboration between Uzbekistan and the OSCE, as well as further strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Finland.

The constructive cooperation with the OSCE was acknowledged with satisfaction, particularly in the areas of modernizing the national electoral system, promoting media freedom, addressing gender and youth issues, and advancing environmental sustainability. The importance of prioritizing climate security and sustainable development was emphasized.

The discussions also covered the agenda of relations between Uzbekistan and Finland, with a focus on trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian aspects.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional matters and reviewed the upcoming schedule of events.
