The President of Uzbekistan highlighted the significance of broadening mutually beneficial collaboration with Russia in the energy industry

On June 10, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasized the importance of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia in the energy sector during a meeting with Alexander Novak, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Novak had arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Fourth Tashkent Investment Forum.

At the start of the meeting, Novak conveyed greetings and well wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Mirziyoyev and congratulated him on the successful organization of the forum.

The two leaders discussed the practical implementation of agreements made during the state visit to Uzbekistan in May of last year and other high-level contacts. They also placed special emphasis on expanding mutually beneficial partnerships in the energy sector, accelerating joint oil and gas projects, and developing cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy.
