On September 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed a delegation from the Chinese corporation BYD, led by its President and Founder Wang Chuanfu.
It is worth noting that BYD is a top-notch manufacturer of contemporary electric vehicles and a new generation of batteries. The Chinese organization produces up to 2 million cars a year and sets the global automobile industry’s main trends.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the details of expanding the company’s activities in Uzbekistan, particularly the early launch of a production site for hybrid and electric cars in Jizzakh region with a potential increase in capacity to 300 thousand vehicles.
The primary focus was on projects for localizing components and spare parts to reduce production costs and organizing the export of cars to third-country markets.
Additionally, the President supported BYD’s plans to supply electric buses to Uzbekistan and to build engineering and service centers.
