The city of Tashkent recently held its second Swiss Days event, with a series of activities and lectures organized by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan Konstantin Obolensky and a delegation of over 20 representatives from Swiss businesses. The celebration included Swiss Infrastructure Day, a photo exhibition at TEAM University titled “Can Tech Save the World?”, and a display at Bonum Factum gallery titled “Courage and Empathy” in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The exhibit featured documentary photographs by Swiss traveler Ella Maillart and Uzbek photographers of the early 20th century, depicting everyday life in Uzbekistan in the 1930s. The exhibition will be showcased in Bukhara and Khiva in the new year.
Swiss Days is an international initiative of Switzerland Global Enterprise, which seeks to introduce Swiss products, culture, education system, and advanced Swiss technologies and solutions to the Uzbek market.
