DUSHANBE, 14.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavki Zavkizoda, led a delegation from Tajikistan to participate in the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regional forum on sustainable development in Geneva from March 13 to 14.
During the forum, member states of UNECE engaged in a dialogue and shared their perspectives on the progress and challenges in fully implementing the 2030 Agenda.
Zavkizoda reported that despite the negative impact of the global economic crisis, Tajikistan’s average annual economic growth was 7.5% from 2015 to 2023, the gross domestic product tripled, and the poverty level decreased by 1.6 times.
The Tajik delegation also participated in and spoke at various sessions of the forum, focusing on poverty reduction and increasing cooperation for the transition to digitalization.
