The UK has granted Uzbekistan beneficiary country status under the UK GSP Enhanced Framework, allowing preferences for Uzbek goods to apply from November 1, 2021. This has caused exports from Uzbekistan to the UK in 2022 to grow by 35 percent.

At a meeting between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodik Safoyev, and a delegation led by the Chair of the British Inter-Parliamentary Union Group, Karen Bradley, the parties discussed strategies to expand political and diplomatic dialogue, intensify parliamentary diplomacy, and increase trade between the two countries.

Additionally, they touched on measures to enable Uzbekistan to join the World Trade Organization. Uzbekistan is eager to attract large British corporations to implement projects in mining, oil and gas, telecommunications, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and education.

The importance of maintaining inter-parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and the UK was highlighted, and both sides agreed to increase multilateral cooperation. Norgul Abduraimova, UzA
