On Wednesday, SK Group Senior Vice Chairman Chey Jae-won and Mercedes-Benz Group CEO Ola Kallenius held a meeting in Seoul to explore ways to strengthen their business partnership. The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in the areas of electric vehicle (EV)-related products and services, particularly EV batteries and T Map, the SK-made navigation app used widely in South Korea.
During the gathering, Chey, the younger brother of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, expressed his wish for a deeper alliance between the two companies, highlighting the fact that Mercedes has been a long-term partner and major client for SK. Lee Jong-ho, CEO of T Map Mobility, the operator of T Map, was also present at the meeting. It was noted that T Map Mobility will provide auto navigation to Mercedes for vehicles to be released in South Korea after 2024.
A photo of the event showed Chey Jae-won and Ola Kallenius shaking hands in SK’s headquarters.
