On October 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who was in Moscow for an official visit, held talks with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at the Coordination Center of the Russian Government. The conversation focused on current issues in bilateral economic relations.
The President of Uzbekistan praised the success of the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation, which resulted in contracts worth $3.5 billion being signed between the two countries’ regions. Attention was paid to sustaining the momentum of trade and intensifying cooperation. A joint Working Group was set up to effectively coordinate activities for deepening industrial collaboration.
The two leaders discussed possibilities for joint implementation of projects in the digitalization of healthcare, education, and the introduction of e-commerce in Uzbekistan. They noted the vast potential for further developing practical partnership between the regions of the two countries and filling it with specific projects.
An agreement was reached to exchange experience in urban planning and renovation of the housing stock. The President of Uzbekistan invited the Prime Minister of Russia to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
The Uzbekistan delegation got acquainted with the operations of the Coordination Center of the Russian Government. Mikhail Mishustin gave the President of Uzbekistan a detailed overview of the activities of this permanent body, created to ensure timely and coordinated actions of executive authorities.
