On September 6, 2023, Chairwoman of the Mejlis D.Gulmanova accepted credentials from Sarah Mary Walsh, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of New Zealand to Turkmenistan. On behalf of the head of state, the head of the parliament extended congratulations to the diplomat on her appointment.
Ms. Walsh conveyed warm greetings from the top leadership of New Zealand to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and all the Turkmen people. During the meeting, the Ambassador was briefed on the main directions of Turkmenistan’s state policy. She was also introduced to the structure of the Mejlis and its activities for establishing a legislative and legal framework for reforms in various fields. Additionally, the parties discussed the activation of inter-parliamentary relations.
