On September 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan had a telephone conversation with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan. President Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated his counterpart on his birthday, wishing him success, good health, and prosperity to the Turkmen people.
The two leaders discussed current topics on the bilateral agenda and regional cooperation. They expressed satisfaction with the development of constructive political dialogue and fruitful interdepartmental contacts. The volume of mutual trade is growing, and the project of creating the Khorezm-Dashoguz border zone is being jointly implemented. Cooperation in energy and transport is deepening. It was noted that Turkmen Culture Days will be held in Uzbekistan in October.
The presidents also exchanged views on intensifying beneficial collaboration in Central Asia, including within the framework of existing multilateral formats. Following the telephone conversation, President Mirziyoyev congratulated the President and the people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming Independence Day of the country.
