In line with the Law of Turkmenistan “On Citizenship of Turkmenistan,” and in keeping with the principles of humanism and the values of our ancestors, the President has authorized a group of stateless people residing in the country to become Turkmenistan citizens. This action is in line with international regulations for the protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as the right of people to freely choose their citizenship.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service, and other pertinent departments have been instructed to keep processing documents of stateless persons who have requested Turkmenistan citizenship, and to then present their recommendations to the Head of State.
