Lin Wu, Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Shandong province, led a delegation to Samarkand on September 5-6. On the first day, Erkinjon Turdimov, the Hokim of Samarkand region, and Mr. Lin discussed the prospects of developing cooperation. The following day, the “Hospitable Shandong with Quality Products” presentation and exhibition was held at Samarkand International Tourism Center.
Mr. Turdimov and Mr. Wu both addressed the event, stressing the need to create favorable conditions and opportunities for entrepreneurs to bring the cooperation between the two regions to a higher level. Mr. Turdimov noted that Samarkand is one of the most rapidly developing regions of Uzbekistan, and Shandong Province is one of the leading Chinese regions in terms of production, trade, and industry.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun also sent a video message. At the presentation, the leadership of Samarkand region and Shandong province, representatives of the tourism sector, and entrepreneurs provided information about the available opportunities and potential of the regions in terms of agriculture, industry, tourism, mechanical engineering, and chemical technologies. A memorandum on further strengthening friendship and cooperation between Samarkand region and Shandong province in 2023-2025 was signed.
