The International Institute for Central Asia in Tashkent recently hosted a meeting with the Executive Director of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum Secretariat, Rhee Jong Kook. The guest was informed about the activities of the Institute, the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the results of the rapid development of regional cooperation, the success achieved in relations with Central Asian countries, and the potential of partnership in the CA+ format.
Rhee Jong Kook highly praised the current level of cooperation between Korea and the region’s countries in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The importance of promoting joint work at the level of expert and analytical circles in the “CA+Korea” format was also noted.
The parties agreed to promote activities to increase mutual understanding and expand cooperation. These activities could include workshops, roundtable discussions, and forums.
The Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum Secretariat was established in 2017 with the goal of strengthening cooperation between the parties by providing support for the implementation of projects.
