At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Nigina Uktamova earned a bronze medal, making her the first world champion among Uzbek girls. This accomplishment paved the way for her to compete in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will take place in 2024 in Paris.
Nigina has achieved many international accolades. In 2021, she was honored as the year’s top young athlete and presented with the “Shukhrat” medal. She is currently enrolled in the Jizzakh State Pedagogical University.
Azim Khudoykulov, Coach of the Children’s and Youth Sports School of Ishtikhan district, shared that 25 students from the sports school in Ishtikhan district are part of the Uzbekistan national team. They are actively competing in international events, with boxers from the school preparing for the Asian Championships in October in Kazakhstan.
