The Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, announced at a press conference that in the first half of 2024, Tajikistan saw the commissioning of 251 new industrial enterprises, resulting in the creation of 1,714 jobs. These new enterprises have also contributed to the production of goods worth over 60 million somoni.
This growth in industrial development is a result of Tajikistan’s focus on accelerated industrialization as one of its four strategic goals, as well as the ongoing Years of Industrial Development. Of the 251 new enterprises, 62 are in the food industry, 66 in construction, 58 in automotive, defense, and chemical industries, 49 in light industry, and 5 in mining, metallurgy, and coal industries.
