Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoyev met with Zulkifli Jafar, Executive Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. During the meeting, the two parties discussed potential collaboration in producing pharmaceutical products within Uzbekistan. Zulkifli Jafar mentioned that Pharmaniaga Berhad was one of the pioneering companies in Malaysia to establish halal-certified insulin production for diabetic patients. This insulin is currently being supplied to state medical institutions under government procurement contracts. He also highlighted the company’s efforts in providing free distribution of insulin products to diabetic patients across the country. Furthermore, the Executive Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad emphasized the company’s partnership with the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan in exploring joint production opportunities for various pharmaceutical products within the country. The Malaysian side expressed a strong interest in setting up halal-certified insulin production at the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster in collaboration with Uzbekistani companies. It was mentioned that in the initial phase, the company plans to bring necessary technologies from Malaysia and utilize existing facilities in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector to launch production in accordance with halal standards.
