The government has approved a new set of regulations that will allow entrepreneurs to lease state-owned reservoirs through an online auction platform from October 1.
These reservoirs, both natural and artificial, may be used for a variety of activities such as industrial fish farming, beach areas, recreational fishing, boating, trade in fish products, public catering, and other tourist services. Lightweight structures, such as camp complexes and containers, may also be placed for these purposes with the approval of the law.
The lease term is a minimum of 10 years, with an option to extend it for another 10 years. Entrepreneurs may also approach the lessor with a proposal to lease the reservoirs.
This provision does not apply to reservoirs whose lease agreements have not expired, the Aydar-Arnasay system of lakes, and other state property already leased based on resolutions of the President or government.
