Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discuss progress on joint projects

During the ongoing trilateral summit in Khujand, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting. They exchanged warm greetings for the spring holiday Navruz and the holy celebration of Ramadan Hayit – Eid al-Fitr, wishing peace and prosperity for both nations. The signing of the Treaty on the Junction Point of the State Borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan was recognized as the main achievement of the trilateral talks held earlier in the day. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress made in implementing agreements reached at the highest level, including a 70% increase in bilateral trade and successful industrial cooperation supported by a joint Investment Fund. They also discussed ways to expedite major regional projects in energy and transportation, such as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
