On August 4th, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan convened in a trilateral Summit in Ashgabat at the “Arkadag” hotel.
President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significance of this Summit, the first of its kind, as it corresponds to the logic of the cooperation between the three countries and reflects its consistent nature. He also noted the importance of working together to coordinate development plans to meet the needs of their respective national economies. Additionally, President Berdimuhamedov touched on several issues that the Summit would discuss, such as sustainable water supply, energy, transport, trade, and investment.
President Rahmon expressed his gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for the invitation and hospitality, and underscored the importance of this Summit as a new chapter in the history of the three countries’ traditionally friendly relations. He also noted the progress that has been made in the political dialogue, trade, economic, humanitarian, and cultural spheres.
President Mirziyoyev expressed his appreciation for the Summit’s organization and the conditions provided for successful work. He also commended President Berdimuhamedov for his dedication to developing interstate and regional partnership.
