SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Yonhap) — KT Corp., a major telecom company in South Korea, on Wednesday appointed Kim Young-shub, former CEO of IT service provider LG CNS Co., as its new leader.
The shareholders of KT Corp. gave their approval for Kim’s appointment, which comes after the company had been without a CEO since March, when its former head Ku Hyeon-mo stepped down from the top job without gaining the support of shareholders.
KT said Kim, who has a wealth of corporate management experience and expertise in the ICT industry, will be instrumental in transforming the telecommunications company into a digital platform operator.
“I’ll do my best to build a sustainable growth foundation for the company and enhance corporate value through KT’s best network infrastructure, technology and business capabilities,” Kim said in a statement.
