The Korea Exchange has announced that South Korea’s stock markets, including the Korea Composite Stock Price Index and KOSDAQ, as well as ETFs, derivatives markets, and commodity markets such as petroleum and gold, will be closed for the six-day period from September 28 to October 3.
The decision comes in response to the government’s decision to designate October 2 as a temporary holiday, in an attempt to stimulate domestic consumption.
The six-day holiday will begin on the day before Chuseok, the autumn harvest celebration, which falls on September 29, and will end on National Foundation Day on October 3.
