On Wednesday, KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong Motor Co., reported a 15 percent decline in sales last month compared to the same period last year. This was mainly attributed to weak domestic demand.

The company sold 9,583 vehicles in September, a decrease from 11,262 units the previous year. Domestic sales dropped 47 percent to 4,069 units, while exports rose 51 percent to 5,514 units.

From January to September, sales increased 20 percent to 96,219 vehicles from 80,188 units during the same time period in the prior year. Domestic sales increased 4.3 percent to 50,984 units, while exports jumped 44 percent to 45,415.

KG Mobility currently offers the Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Rexton Sports and Torres SUVs. Last month, the Torres EVX SUV was added to the lineup, making it the carmaker’s second electric vehicle after the Korando Emotion was released in the domestic market in February 2022.

The Torres EVX is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery system and can travel more than 420 kilometers on a single charge.
