The leaders of Uzbekistan and South Korea have reached an accord to create logistics companies in Uzbekistan to help transport Uzbek products to South Korea. They also discussed a plan to construct a facility for processing solid household waste. This was discussed between Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and Chairman of Eurasia Networks Group, Senior Vice President of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association (KUBA) Kim Chang-Keon.
The President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Chang Won-sam talked about ways to expand the bond between the two countries. KOICA has given financial, technical, and grant aid totaling more than $140 million to execute socio-economic programs in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the agency is cooperating with Uzbekistan to introduce an electronic parliament system to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and KOICA are also partnering up to enhance the ecosystem of the Aral Sea region, with a budget of $5.9 million.
The two countries have agreed to collaborate on healthcare, education, information technology, utilities, agriculture and water management, energy, and transport projects.
