DUSHANBE, 13.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In the first five months of 2023, industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs in Tajikistan produced goods worth more than 16.6 billion somoni, which is an increase of 1.1 billion somoni compared to the same period last year.
The growth rate, taking into account comparable prices, was 9%.
Industrial production rose from 15.1 billion somoni in 2016 to 43.0 billion somoni in 2022, which is a 2.8-fold increase.
The main factor for the growth rate of the industrial sector during the five months of 2023 was an increase in the volume of mining — by 2.8%, manufacturing — by 12.8%, energy supply, gas, steam and air purification — by 13.1%.
For this period, the growth rate of the industrial sector in the Sughd region was 108.8% higher than the same period last year, in Khatlon region — 112.4%, in Dushanbe — 121.6%, in areas of republican subordination — 92.6%, in GBAO — 89.6%.
During the reporting period, 3,174 production workshops and enterprises operated, including 301 in mining, 2,706 in processing, 71 in power supply, gas, steam and air purification, and 96 in water supply and waste processing.
