Malaysia is a key ally of Uzbekistan in the Southeast Asian region. Special attention is paid to the further development of collaboration between the two nations in the fields of economics, culture, electronics and electrical engineering, information technology, food industry, tourism, education, and other areas.
At the ceremony of presenting his credentials to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the freshly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Uzbekistan, Ilham Tuah bin Illias, shared his thoughts on the present condition of bilateral relations, as well as objectives and goals for the future.
– I am delighted to meet with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Malaysian side is ready to support the country on its journey towards sustainable growth. Numerous Malaysians come to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, and of course, we will be developing cooperation in pilgrimage tourism. It is worth noting that direct flights have been established between the two countries.
We also plan to foster our partnership in information technology. This aspect was given special attention during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia. Taking this opportunity, I would like to congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day.
