Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Visits Tashkent for the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization

On November 8, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tashkent. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials welcomed the distinguished guest at Tashkent International Airport. The Summit agenda includes topics such as strengthening trade, economic, investment, transport, communications, and humanitarian cooperation, and improving the activities of this multilateral organization.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan paid a state visit to Azerbaijan on August 22, which deepened the friendly relations between the two countries that have a long history. Since 2017, the dialogue between the two countries has intensified, and visits by delegations from both sides have become more frequent. The initiatives put forward by the two countries’ leaders have become increasingly important.
