Harvest of Cotton Begun in Turkmenistan

Today marks the start of cotton harvesting in Turkmenistan with the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The campaign has been launched in the Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats, with Dashoguz region set to join on September 15th in consideration of soil and climate conditions.
In the era of the revival of a powerful state, the necessary measures are being taken for the successful work of daykhan and abundant harvests. At the August 31st meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of state highlighted the importance of carrying out the cotton season in an orderly fashion and within the set agro-technical deadlines.
Cotton cultivation is a significant branch of the agro-industrial complex in Turkmenistan, contributing to the national programs of import substitution and increasing the export capabilities of the national economy. The natural and climatic conditions are suitable for growing medium-fiber and fine-fiber varieties of cotton.
Modern production based on innovative technologies make cotton fiber a valuable raw material for the domestic textile industry, with products highly sought after in world markets.
The agricultural sector is growing due to the reforms initiated by the National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Financial resources are allocated for irrigation and land reclamation, as well as the renewal of the technical park of the agro-industrial complex. The state also purchases agricultural machinery from leading world manufacturers.
Digital technologies are being implemented into agriculture in accordance with the economic policy of the President of Turkmenistan. Scientific breeding, the creation of new zoned varieties of cotton, and precocity and high yield are also given much attention.
Organized technical and service maintenance of the operated equipment has been implemented in the field for the smooth operation of the cotton-harvesting conveyor, and for the well-being of machine operators, drivers and hand cotton pickers. Procurement points and cotton gins have been prepared for the reception of the new cotton harvest.
The work of advanced tenants-cotton growers, farmers, combine harvesters and drivers in the 2023 Cotton Harvest is stimulated by the Agrarian and Democratic Parties, as well as public organizations of the country.
Today, caravans of trucks and tractors with trailers, loaded with “white gold”, have arrived at the reception points and cotton gins of Akhal velayat, Lebap velayat, Mary velayat and Balkan velayat. The beginning of the harvest was blessed by respected elders who prayed to the Almighty for the well-being and prosperity of the Homeland, the native people and the leadership of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, daykhan associations, and public organizations participated in the events on the occasion of the beginning of the harvesting campaign. Exhibitions of agricultural machinery, products of the agro-processing and textile industries were launched. Artists, musicians and singers, dance and folklore groups of the regions, who performed with concert programs, added to the festive atmosphere. Valuable gifts were presented on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the leading cotton growers, the best cotton farmers, who grew a heavy cotton crop.
