Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Reveals Macroeconomic Indicators of Turkmenistan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a meeting of Central Asian countries and the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany in Berlin, shared some macroeconomic indicators of Turkmenistan.

Hero-Arkadag reported that around 200 projects worth more than 10 billion US dollars are being constructed in the country, GDP growth in the first 8 months of 2023 was 6.2%, and the amount of investments in the economy is 18-19% of GDP, 12% of which are foreign investments.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people highlighted that the strategic direction towards industrial and innovative growth is ensured by reallocating over 60% of the total investments into the production sector, which enables a change in the industrial structure and accelerates the development of import-substituting and export-oriented industries.

«In recent years, Turkmenistan has implemented a number of investment projects in the gas chemical sector of the economy. These are new plants built for the production of ammonia, urea, polypropylene, polyethylene, synthetic gasoline», –emphasized the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
