On September 26, 2023, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov greeted Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov upon his arrival in Ashgabat to take part in the Independence Day of Turkmenistan celebrations.
The esteemed guest conveyed his warmest congratulations to the Hero-Arkadag on the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and expressed his admiration for the National Leader’s substantial contribution to the enhancement of the productive dialogue based on the solid bonds of friendship and neighborliness.
The two parties discussed the dynamic and productive nature of the Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation in the trade and economic sector. The Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which oversees all bilateral relations, was also mentioned.
At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent his regards and well-wishes to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
As part of his visit, Rustam Minnikhanov toured the city of Arkadag and got acquainted with the architecture and cultural attractions of the country’s first “smart” city.
