The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, has invited German companies to join in the implementation of water-related projects in Turkmenistan. This proposition was made at a gathering of the heads of delegations from Central Asian countries and the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany in Berlin.
Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out that the lack of water resources is a major issue in many parts of the world today, which is caused by global climate change and the large-scale, sometimes uncontrolled activities of certain states’ economic entities.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people mentioned that, as a signatory to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Paris Agreement, and other multilateral international acts in the field of environmental protection, Turkmenistan is firmly committed to fulfilling its international environmental obligations.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty reminded that the country is implementing comprehensive measures to preserve and use water resources reasonably. He proposed that German companies consider the implementation of various projects in the water sector of Turkmenistan.
