The government has announced plans to permit businesspeople to enter Ukraine for reconstruction projects, despite the country’s travel ban. This decision was made after President Yoon Suk Yeol made a visit to Ukraine and promised to provide assistance with security, humanitarian, and reconstruction efforts. The government will allow an exception to the travel ban for those involved in post-war reconstruction programs. This is not the first time that the government has allowed Korean companies to enter a war-torn country; in 2007, the government imposed a travel ban on Iraq, but Korean businesses were able to travel to the country with the use of their passports.
